The Story of Seaweed Stories

When you picture seaweed, what do you see?
Green fronds swaying in the tide? Red ribbons clinging to rocky coasts? Maybe nothing at all?

Whatever you imagine, you’re right. Seaweed is everywhere. In oceans, lakes, ecosystems, food, packaging, pharmaceuticals and even face cream. Seaweed is one of the most versatile and promising natural resources on the planet. But to truly realize its potential, we need more than innovation -  we need connection.

That’s where Seaweed Stories begins.

This initiative starts with a many-years-in-the-making collaboration between the Pacific Seaweed Industry Association (PSIA) and Pisces RPM, the only company offering communications specifically for the ocean industry. After looking for the right way to work together for years, we finally found it in Seaweed Stories - the perfect opportunity to combine PSIA’s knowledge of the seaweed industry and Pisces knowledge of ocean storytelling. 

At Pisces, we believe storytelling is more than communication - it’s the ability to make things matter on a deeply personal level. It's how we connect people to ideas, help audiences retain the information that matters, and inspire action that can help save the ocean. And seaweed, with its boundless potential to capture carbon, replace plastics, clean water, and nourish communities, needs to be seen, understood and connected with in 

Through Seaweed Stories, we’re creating space for globally connected voices - growers, innovators, researchers, changemakers - to come together and share what seaweed means to them. Whether you're deep in the industry, seaweed-curious, or completely new, we hope these stories will be the entry point into a thriving global movement.
